Rappler: Making Journalistic Ripples through Social Change.
Jan 23rd

Rappler's Audience at the FEU Auditorium
It is rare to see journalists talk about what they think about what should people should or could do to change the way they think and what they act, and yesterday was one of those days.
At the Sidelines of Hero Face Off 2
Sep 4th
SM MEGAMALL MEGATRADE HALL 2 (via PLDT) – Today is a very busy day for us here at ZEN Otaku Honbu.. We are here in the bloggers area where all media activity (well, somewhat, social media activity) is happening here at the 2nd Hero Cosplay Face Off.
As you may have knew, we have been doing live blogging since earlier today, (4 September) and we are covering it like a political convention, with all the color, the drama, and possible thrills of victory and the agonies of defeat.
The bloggers area here remember me of the Print media area of the Nominating conventions of the two US parties or a press center of an international gathering. Laptops, connected to the internet, are open for use by any blogger accredited to cover the event.. and we have the best vantage view ever.. near the stage. I was also privileged to view the Control Room (though a makeshift one) for the production of the event. There is a mini-jib, three XDCAM cameras (but recording in SD MPEG mode.) and their EVS Video Production Servers all online and recording for the Upcoming special later.
So this is only the latest. Check our upcoming report on Hero Cosplay Face Off on ZEN Otaku Honbu’s main website.
April 21 Special: The Fourth Year without @eclecticmimicry
Apr 21st
This commences our second April 21st Special for the year, and probably the start of the more permanent April 21st specials which will mark our anniversary of blogging. We will resume the blogging of our Pundit’s Hat Part Two on Easter week, as I would like to reflect this Holy Week with some of my long, and hard thoughts that I just took to myself. Since my Multiply is now inactive, and I don’t have any personal blogs as of the moment. I would like to use This blog as my outlet.
This post also launches my tumblr. branch of my group of sites. If you want to follow me, please visit Deadlines, News Flashes and a Venti Frap
Again, this is my personal outlet and I would like to reiterate that all the opinions that are being expressed here in this blog are purposely mine and does not necessarily reflect ZEN Otaku Honbu’s position.
Last year, we launched “The Notebook” with our first blog post, titled “A Friend that I had,” which was posted exactly a year ago. Now, we will post our first ever April 21st Special with the same sadness, the same frustration, the same inner manic depressive things I always had in my mind. I have been living for 4 years without a rock, without a shoulder, without a crutch, without the dude I came to know as… Twist.
The Notebook Yearender 2: The Top Ten Events That Shaped PH Anime in 2010
Dec 31st
Okay.. For our Second of our three-pronged yearender specials here on The Notebook.. 2010 has been a truly historical year full of surprises and events that we normally tend to think about. There is the Botched Manila Hostage Crisis, The 2010 National Elections, the Truth Commission, The Hubert Webb Release, and some “Major, major” headliners like Venus Raj, Manny Pacquiao, Charice, John Lloyd and Shaina, Kris Aquino and Shalala..(sorry.. I can’t resist putting Shalala’s name)
But 2010 is not just full of events in the national and international scene. 2010 is also a big year for Anime and Philippine TV, So many events and personalities that shaped and defined what we thought about anime. This was a big year for Anime Events, with Ozine churning out at least one event per quarter.. then there were the personalities like Cosplay.ph Head Pablo Bairan, who made us all remember the Tenth year of PH Cosplay via the highly-successful Cosplay Mania X. and there were groups like the redoubtable Anime Pinas Network who stood ground in their rebellion to place Anime on Primetime slots.
Let us look back at the Top Ten Anime-related Events that shaped our consciousness as a Pinoy Anime Otaku.
The Notebook Yearender 1: Ten Things I Expect for 2011
Dec 26th
This post starts our three-pronged Yearender posts. Wow, time really flies and it’s already 5 days to the End of the Year. We have come again on our heels, with our brand, spanking-new blog, a election, a change in government, all the events, and the changes in PH Television.. 2010 was, and is, really, a banner year.
So do we at Zen Otaku Honbu. We were quite low-key in the previous years, and now, with a website to kick-off 2010, plus a record breaking news output and up-to-the-minute updates on our Social Media sites. We became the hottest new kid on the block. We were feisty, yet responsible in bringing to you the latest news from the J-subculture as well as media news from our home country and elsewhere.
And to start our first Yearender on The Notebook. I would like to tell to you what things I really expect in 2011.. Some of them may be realistic, but others, well, I’m not really hoping it may come in 2011, eitherway, This may seem as a prediction or a wishlist (whatever you call it) on what will happen on TV, Anime, and even on my personal life.
Our 2nd yearender special, which is the Ten Events that defined PH Anime in 2010, will be out on 28 Dec and the Last Yearend special, the 2010 In Retrospective, will be out by 30 Dec.
Now. here is my Top Ten Things to Expect in 2011.
